Why it exists
A veteran who has built a business and earned a certification still has to be found by someone who is buying. A prime contractor with a subcontracting plan still has to find firms that are genuinely certified. Those two problems are the same problem, and the existing answers are either paywalled, out of date, or padded with firms that merely say they qualify.
Everything here comes from the certification records themselves. A listing cannot be bought, and placement cannot be bought.
How to trust it
Every firm page carries a link to that firm’s record at SBA. You do not have to believe us; you can check in one click. Where SBA’s record and ours ever differ, SBA’s is the one that counts, and we would like to know so we can correct ours.
State pages cite the statute or rule behind each figure, because the figures are routinely misreported — preferences that were repealed, goals quoted at the wrong percentage, bills that never became law.
What this is not
It is not legal or procurement advice, and we do not certify anyone. Certification is SBA’s to grant. We do not sell leads, we do not sell placement, and we do not charge veterans for anything.
Who runs it
CertifiedVeteranBusiness.org is a project of Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 84-2016237. The same organization runs HireAVeteran.org, StateVeteranBenefits.org, VetDisability.org and several others.
